About Us

Mining Australia is a news site covering the Australian mining and exploration sector — ASX-listed gold, silver, copper, iron ore, lithium, and critical minerals companies, along with the exploration results, corporate deals, and market moves that affect them.

What We Do

We report on company announcements, drilling and exploration results, mergers and acquisitions, and commodity market trends as they happen. Our coverage leans toward companies and projects with an Australian connection, but we also follow global commodity trends that affect ASX-listed miners, since gold, copper, and lithium prices are set on international markets, not domestic ones.

We are not a stockbroker, financial adviser, or research house. We write news and commentary about the sector; we don’t recommend trades or manage money. Our full position on this is set out in our Disclaimer.

Our Editor

Mining Australia is founded and edited by Ben M, who oversees the site’s editorial direction, sourcing standards, and day-to-day coverage decisions.

As the site grows, we intend to add named contributing writers with disclosed backgrounds in resources journalism, geology, and financial markets. We’d rather list fewer, real bylines than pad the masthead.

How We Report

Our starting point for company news is primary sources: ASX announcements, company statements, investor presentations, and regulatory filings. Where we rely on a company’s own release, we say so. Where a company or third party has paid for a feature or profile to appear on the site, it is labelled as sponsored or a special feature and kept editorially separate from our news reporting.

Mistakes happen in daily news publishing. When they do, we correct them and, for anything material, note the correction on the article. The full policy is on our Editorial Policy page.
